WORKOUT TIMERS

HYROX training timer

Practice the run and station rhythm of a hybrid race with Cero’s Run + station template

HYROX is a fitness race of 8 runs of 1 km, each followed by a workout station: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls. Training for it means getting used to running on tired legs and switching straight into station work.

How to set it up in Cero

  1. Create a new advanced timer and choose the Run + station template.
  2. Set the number of run / station pairs, and adjust each run and station to your target times.
  3. Rename each station and give it its own color, so you know what’s next at a glance.
  4. Pair Apple Watch or a Bluetooth heart-rate monitor, and let Adaptive HR warn you if you start your runs too hard.
  5. On race-practice days, time real runs and stations with the lap stopwatch instead.

Session ideas

  • Half simulation: 4 pairs of a 1 km run and one station.
  • Compromised running: 6 rounds of 3 minutes running and 2 minutes of wall balls or lunges.
  • Station circuit: 8 stations of 3 minutes, with 1 minute of rest between them.
