WORKOUT TIMERS
MMA and Muay Thai round timer
Rounds and rest for MMA, Muay Thai and kickboxing, for bag work, pads, drilling and sparring
Each combat sport has its own clock. Under the unified rules used in most professional MMA, a round lasts 5 minutes, with 1 minute of rest: 3 rounds for most fights and 5 for title fights. Traditional professional Muay Thai uses 5 rounds of 3 minutes with 2 minutes of rest, and most kickboxing 3 rounds of 3 minutes with 1 minute.
| Sport | Round | Rest | Rounds |
|---|---|---|---|
| MMA | 5 min | 1 min | 3, or 5 for titles |
| Muay Thai (professional) | 3 min | 2 min | 5 |
| Kickboxing | 3 min | 1 min | 3 |
| Boxing (professional) | 3 min | 1 min | Up to 12 |
